Big Bats DO CRY

Hello Nerds!
Today I have a question I’d like to ask.
“Are Heroes affected by mean comments?”
Now some of you may say “Leif! YES OF COURSE THEY ARE!!!! Are you stupid or something, just look at The Dark Knight Rises, Batman is in hiding for 8 Fraking Years!!!!!!!”
*Clears Throat* (that was more my take on what happened, and I suppose it’s more that someone died (not saying who for spoiler reasons) that Batman stayed in hiding for several years, but still it might have been what he said before he died that made Batman hang and mope for 8 years (get it….”Hang”)
But back to my question, for those “Arkham” Series players, the henchmen and street thugs say some pretty mean comments and I’m sure some other games do this too. If Supes got a game, I’m sure people would (in the game) make fun of him having no real parents, or that he is an orphan. So my personal opinion would be “Yes, I do think heroes are affected by mean comments, I’m sure Bru- I mean Batman eventually just goes into his cave alone and cries because of people ragging on him.
For those of you again, who play Arkham games, I’m sure Riddler alone racks up half of Batman’s tissue cost monthly, always calling him stupid and stuff. And if Superman got his own game, I’m sure he’d go to the Fortress of Solitude and has a little stress relieving cry into his pillow or whatever.
I think what we don’t think about is that they’re people too, they have feelings and emotions and they need love and sandwiches too. I’m sure the real reason that Batman is always really grumpy (besides attachment issues) is that he’s always being picked on, and that he just wants acceptance.
This brings me to my next point: Sidekicks
Sidekicks (while are awesome) probably provide the Parent-Hero more comfort or encouragement when needed, Terry McGinnis provided Batman with emotional support, when all Batman could do was help Batman in the field, always doing what Barbara did for him, when he was Batman
Superheroes need Sidekicks to alleviate the work load, too. When the hero is kidnapped, or is already on assignment elsewhere, they need their wards (Like Burt) to help out. When Batman went missing, it was up to Robin to call Superman to come to Gotham and help find Batman, who was probably just stuck in traffic on the way back from Therapy. And with that I shall see you all later!
