Why should I watch Gotham?

Hello Nerds!
Today I’d like to talk about why you should watch GOTHAM, Fox’s newest superhero show.
Gotham is (as some of us know) a big part of not only Batman mythos, but many other characters as well. We get to see some of the most influential people in Gotham before they’ve ever tangled with Batman (like Riddler, Penguin, Gordon, Bullock, and new characters like Mooney), and this provides great potential in my opinion for the show- writers. When you put so many raw characters with no pre-conceptions about them into a side of the city we’ve never really seen before, with an era of peace on the verge of war- that is the kind of show that just pulls me in.
As nerds, we have so many obsessions (or in some cases, only one) that we love, as Mark Hamill’s Joker put it “you’ve experienced the ups, the downs” and all of us know how the routine goes; this time, however we can have those ups and downs without Batman or Robin, instead we get an entirely Batman- Free show, that follows Bruce Wayne, James Gordon, and many others.
Everyone should go out and watch at least the first episode, even if you’re not a Batman nerd, or fanatic. There aren’t any insufferable nerdy type things like the cheesy Bat-copter, or the near insufferable labels that West’s cave had, no, this is just like another crime based show, just without the five billion main character cast with whiter than white lab coats, and one guy in a suit. I’d bet, if half of you give it a try, you will like at least one aspect of the show.

Leif's Top Ten (sadly no Dave to read them, though)

Hello Nerds!
I’ve always liked Marching band, and I’m sad to see it go, but in my misery you should find joy. Why you might ask? Is because now that Marching band is over, my Saturdays are now open for more writing time, also Thursdays and Fridays, but anyways…
When you first become a teenager, I’m sure you were always busy doing XYZ, and I’m no exception, in fact I often have to short change you, and many other things in my life. For this I am sorry, but I’m also excited to start new topics for this week (as I have run out of things to talk about with Gotham, though in the future there may be more things to come) starting with………… How to watch an entire series in only a couple of weeks!
I’ve done this many times; in fact, I’m currently listening to Enterprise, the prequel to The Original Series of Star Trek. This blog will touch on some of my biggest tips for accomplishing this:
10. Don’t let unimportant things get in the way of watching what you want, especially work
9. Listening is just as good as watching, if you’ve seen it before your brain already remembers it, so just listen instead of watch so you can do other things whilst you complete your quest
8. Find the time to sit down and listen, don’t overwork yourself to the point where efficiency is lost
7. Make yourself comfortable, you need a relaxed body in order for your brain to catch everything
6. Beverages and snacks are lifesavers
5. Reading is hard to do while listening to background noise, avoid unless the background noise is music
3. There is no four, it is lost when you don’t pay attention to both things you’re doing, if you can’t do both, than only do one
3. There is a second three because this would be quite a rubbish top ten if there were only nine; this is not Pirates of the Caribbean, here
2. Try to keep track of time; don’t be locked in your basement for months on end
And the Number one tip for marathons is…………………………..
NEVER STOP HAVING MARATHONS, FOR ANY REASON!!!!!!
Our brains atrophy when not properly dulled by the television
These tips are here to help you for when that favorite show of yours shows up on Netflix, or HBO GO, or whatever you please. Just remember, you didn’t hear them from me.

Why Nerds should roam free ( in the real world)

Hello Nerds!
Why do nerds have to work in the real world? More aptly, why do we have to conform to the work area, when it would be much simpler to work from home, doing what we want?
The answer is simple in theory, I believe, Nerds should be kept happy, and to do this we should get what we want, and for those who don’t fit into a normal work environment, they should have the right to work from home, doing what they want.
Hundreds of years ago, the average student would focus on what they wanted to do, farmers would send their child or children to learn the trade of farming, not farming, biology, algebra, history, sport, and how to make cakes, they simply went to learn how to farm. I understand that being exposed to many things helps us to know what we want to do, but we should at least have the right to deny some things with our education (I mean, who liked Phy. Ed.? Seriously?)
If a nerd wants do specialize in string theory, or math, or science, and they know for a fact and can prove it on paper, they should be allowed to do whatever they please. Don’t waste money and effort trying to teach a mathematical constant to a person whose favorite subject is history, they don’t mix in application.

It's a hard nerd life, for us

Hello Nerds!
Sometimes it’s hard to be a nerd; sometimes you’re shunned by society, branded as an outcast, a non- intellectual, and the list goes on; I’ve never liked being an outcast, but have faced it on many occasions.
The most common place: the lunch room at my high school…….*Breaks out laughing* just kidding I don’t eat that crappy food!!!!! More seriously though, the hardest place is generally in the classroom, where the nonintellectuals, and even sometimes football players and athletes will try to act like your friend, and act like they’re interested in you and your nerd life. Like Holden Caulfield said (quite often, too) “they’re a bunch of Phonies”, which they are.
They don’t understand that what they do is not only a waste of their effort, but of ours as well and mildly insulting at times. When you start a conversation with a nerd, don’t think of it as starting a conversation with a nerd, thing about just talking to the person, not their obsession. I mean, no-one ever went up to Bruce Wayne and asked him about his dead parents, but I can assure you both Bruce and the nerd would take it the same way: very insulting and mildly agitating… the only difference being that Bruce would probably send you through a wall, where as I would send you through the door with my gripping of your shirt and escorting you out of my sight.
Nothing can be more upsetting to me when Phonies try to be my friend, when all they want is your attention, when they do this I try to find a phrase to shut them down without angering them, just stopping them right in their tracks.
So the next time you try to talk to someone’s passion or obsession, just don’t, ok? And if you’re the one being bullied by them, just don’t even acknowledge their existence and see how better your life is.
